Cleveland + Akron hosts the 2014 Gay Games August 9 – 16. It is comparable to the Summer Olympics with up to 9,000 participants in 35 sports and cultural events. Sports include badminton to wrestling and cultural events include band and choral performances.
Besides the sports and cultural events, GG9 includes opening and closing ceremonies, live concerts, parties and exhibits. Click the links for a list of the ceremonies and a complete event schedule.
It is anticipated that GG9 will have an economic impact of tens of millions for the Cleveland area. The games also promote evolved thinking about diversity… values of many Mill Creek neighbors.
